My Ruined Table Top

So the TH-50PH10UKA is still giving me trouble even after the panel was changed out.  This time the display has an intermittent 4 inch vertical dark band on the left middle quadrant of the panel.  So I call Panasonic again and they schedule to have my TV picked up this time for diagnostic testing etc.  Due to Panasonic concierge program, I was left a loaner.  This is where the trouble begins (theatrical music plays in background)......

My wife answers the ring of the doorbell to find the Panasonic authorized service ready to work.  He gives her a piece of paper and asks her to sign it before they begin their work.  Oh and they take our credit card number (just to hold for the loaner).  Long story short - It takes them 30 minutes to get the loaner hooked up (apparently the HDMI ports on it are bad).  Well in doing so, they had to keep moving it back and forth on the table.  You see where this is going?  To make matters worse THERE IS A LOOSE SCREW ON THE STAND STICKING OUT BEYOND THE PADDED FEET!

So, I come home from work to find a significant scratch on my table.  I was surprised to say the least.  Then I look behind the panel and HOLY COW they really did a number on the table.  Being very angry, I called them and said this was unacceptable and was in disbelief they had such little regard for my property.  All they would offer was the claim they were not liable for the damage and they would pay 50% of the repair of the table (and this was after admitting they may have put ONE scratch on it (they claimed I already had one on there).  I am the most careful person in the world when it comes to my furniture!  I was so angry when they told me it must have had scratches already.

Needless to say, I wasn't very  happy with this attitude so I am taking it up with Panasonic.

So now you be the judge:

Notice Where My Display Sits!

My commercial display sits on the optional commercial PEDESTAL. Do you see where that stand makes contact with the table? Now, do you see any scatches on my table?

Oh, The Loaner

Well, what do you know a Duck Foot stand! Notice where the duck foot makes contact with the table. Now relate that to the "they must have been there before" scratches!

Scratches

My commercial pedestal doesn't even reach this area of the table. What a joke.

Scratches

The Cause!

Well jeepers Mr. Wilson, I didn't know there was a loose screw on the bottom of that stand IN THE SAME EXACT PLACE in relation to the scratches on your table that "must have been there before we put any on there".

I wonder...

I wonder how many other people have had their furniture ruined by this? I mean look at all of the furniture meat in that screw head.

Peek-A-Boo

I see you Mr. Screw Head
